We have created this harness especially to be Compatible with single coils, or single coil sized humbuckers, P90s and humbuckers as well. We incorporate INTELLIGENT SWITCHING which allows you to get the absolute most out of both pickups, no matter the configuration.
Intelligent Switching
Optimized for single-coils & humbuckers. When building a Telecaster with a mix of humbuckers and single coils, there is a toss-up between choosing 500k controls, to retain the life of a humbucker, or 250k controls, to balance brighter single coils.
We say 'why choose? '. So we build in Obsidian® Intelligent Switching to give you the absolute best of both your humbuckers and single coils with a wiring harness that will automatically switch between the two.
The Modes
- SS Tele® (Two Single coils / traditional Tele® mode)
- HH Tele® (Humbucker + Humbucker)
- HS Telecaster (Humbucker Neck + Single Coil Bridge)
- SH Telecaster (Humbucker Bridge + Single Coil Neck)
SMOOTH CONTROL. An even tone and volume control taper all the way from zero to ten.
Obsidian® tone and volume controls incorporate carefully selected and custom-built components, as well as our own clever mods to smooth out the taper of your tone and volume controls, so you get a more even roll off all the way from zero to 10. Retain clarity at lower volumes. To make your tone crystal clear at lower volumes we include an Obsidian® Custom spec treble bleed mod. This prevents tone 'muddiness' at low volumes by allowing high frequencies to pass along a separate path to your amp, rather than being stopped short by the increasing resistance at the volume control.

Fits: Fender® Japan Telecaster® - Replace control plate & knobs
Fits: Squier® Telecaster® - Replace control plate & knobs
Knobs: Requires US Spec Split Shaft Knobs or 1/4" Solid shafts knobs with a knob sleeve.
Control Plate: Use Genuine Fender or Obsidian® plate only - Other aftermarket plates will NOT fit
Pickups: Built for any combo of two humbuckers, single coils or P90s.
Does NOT Fit: Thinline telecaster, or any guitar not specified above
